live · turns once a utc day

The Zippies Verse. 6,390 tiles on one golden spiral.

Every Zippie lives on one tile and sleeps when its side turns from the sun. A token's tile is fixed by its id. Its eyes close on the night side, computed live inside tokenURI from the block timestamp. The first 21 live in the Core and never sleep.

Each dot is a tile: #1 at the centre, #6,390 on the rim. The shaded half is night.

Eleven bodies, twenty-eight flat colours and heavy black ink, drawn cell by cell on-chain.

And every one of them has white eyes that know where you are.

Origins I to III are three 1/1s, stored cell by cell on-chain.

The first three wallets to pass seven summons in a row hatch them. Everyone after that hatches a Prism, up to 64 in total.

Ritual

Seven steps from an empty wallet to a creature that sleeps, stares and remembers how fast you were.

  1. Step 1: Connect wallet

    no sign-up

Connect a wallet. Installed wallets announce themselves (EIP-6963); phones scan a WalletConnect code.

  2. Step 2: Choose how many

    0.00018 ETH each

1 to 20 per summon, 20 per wallet. If the Verse fills mid-flight you get the rest back automatically.

  3. Step 3: Say its name

    3.00 s

A true name appears. Type it within three seconds. Paste is sealed. The longer your Chorus, the longer the name.

  4. Step 4: Receive a pass

    EIP-712

The oracle signs an EIP-712 pass bound to your wallet, quantity and nonce. Miss the name and nothing is sent: 0 ETH leaves your wallet.

  5. Step 5: Seal it

    ~165k gas

Your wallet sends summon(…) with the pass. The contract checks the signature, the cap and the payment, then mints.

  6. Step 6: Hatch

    ~12 s

The seed is the hash of the block after your mint. Nobody can know it while the mint executes: not you, not us, not a bot. One block later it has eyes.

  7. Step 7: Chorus

    7 in a row

Seven passed summons in a row: the seventh hatches an Origin (first three ever) or a Prism (64 max).

on-chain mechanics

After the hatch: three things a Zippie does that a JPEG can’t.

Contract logic, not metadata promises. Each preview below loops through the states a token moves through on-chain.
mutual gaze

Stare at another Zippie.

gaze(yours, theirs) turns its eyes toward their side of the Verse. If they look back, the two bond: each body fills with the other's colour from below until either one is transferred.

reflex & crown

Your typing speed lives on-chain.

The oracle measures how long the name took and writes it into the token. Re-summon to train it: ≤ 1.00 s is Lightning (a pale aura), and the fastest hand in the Verse wears gold pupils.
